Better filtration and lower costs

The new cabin filters from MANN-FILTER for railway vehicles reduce running costs compared to existing solutions on the market. They realise up to double the service life, reduce the maintenance costs and meet the requirements of the filter classes G3 to M5 acc. to the EN 779 standard. The elements are certified as fire-resistant acc. to EN 45545, the new European fire protection standard for the railway industry and are characterised by excellent flexibility regarding installation space.

Cabin filters from MANN-FILTER for railway vehicles

Speyer/Ludwigsburg, September 23, 2014 – premiere at the 2014 InnoTrans trade fair for the new cabin filter of the MANN-FILTER brand. MANN‑HUMMEL, the international filtration specialist, will present the innovative filter products of its premium brand for air conditioning and ventilation technology for railway vehicles to industry professionals. In comparison to existing solutions on the market such as filter mats the new quality filters reduce running costs for operators.

The pleated elements are characterised by a high filter surface area and low pressure drop. This allows them to achieve a high air throughput and realise up to double the service life of conventional solutions available on the market. The time required for maintenance and machine downtimes is reduced as during a service the elements are simply replaced. In addition, they are fully incinerable and easy to dispose of.

The cabin filters meet the requirements for the separation efficiency of the filter classes G3 to M5 acc. to the EN 779 standard and the fire protection regulations acc. to the new European standard EN 45545. The filters therefore conform to the prevailing safety and hygiene requirements (e.g. VDI 6032) for passenger transport.

Thanks to a standardised modular component system, MANN-FILTER elements can be adapted to meet the requirements of all installation spaces. They can be flexibly configured with regard to frame height and width. Furthermore, the filters are optionally available with different sealing concepts. This serves to avoid leaks. The combination of several filters can be used to meet the requirements of even very large installation spaces.

MANN+HUMMEL has been a filter specialist and competent development partner to the transportation industry for more than 70 years. The company is one of the leading filter manufacturers in the world. In the area of cabin filters, the company offers products for almost all filtration requirements for cabins and passenger compartments with regard to fresh air and air circulation. This is where MANN+HUMMEL designs and develops high quality cabin filters for many varied applications and customer requirements. Strict quality controls ensure a consistent standard, regardless of whether the filters are produced in Germany or within the group’s international network.
