ENTARON HD 4 air cleaner presented with 2016 Red Dot award for product design
The ENTARON HD 4 air cleaner from MANN+HUMMEL has been presented with the RED DOT award, the international award for outstanding product design quality. Participants from 57 countries registered their new products and innovative designs for the 2016 Red Dot product design award. The international Red Dot jury only awards the highly sought-after quality seal to products which stand out with an excellent design.
Ludwigsburg, 15th July 2016 – the ENTARON HD 4 air cleaner from MANN+HUMMEL has been presented with the Red Dot award, the international award for outstanding product design quality. Participants from 57 countries registered their new products and innovative designs for the 2016 Red Dot product design award. The international Red Dot jury only awards the highly sought-after quality seal to products which stand out with an excellent design.
The ENTARON HD 4 is a compact air cleaner for construction and agricultural machines and compressors. The installation space required by the air cleaner is up to a third smaller than comparable products for the same performance. Its cover, user-friendly fasteners and freely positionable raw air ports enable flexible use with many different machines. The receiving elements for the fasteners around the housing are a core design element. Design details such as the orange ends of the fasteners make the design more user-friendly and reliable. These technical and functional innovative design elements were implemented in the course of the longstanding co-operation with Scala Design, a technical development company in Böblingen. "A modern and functional design is also very important for components in the engine compartment and is appreciated by customers. Therefore, we are particularly pleased about this award", says Andrew Glynn, product manager for air cleaners at MANN+HUMMEL.
41 experts from around the world, selected according to strict rules, ensure the high level of the evaluation of products for the Red Dot design award. Those appointed to the jury are exclusively independent designers, design professors and specialised journalists, with the exclusion of designers employed by potential participating companies.
The independent comittee of experts strictly and fairly assesses each registered product at first hand according to the degree of innovation, general quality, functionality and ecological compatibility. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the Red Dot award organisation says: "The Red Dot award indicates the excellent design quality of the respective product and also demonstrates that design is an integrated component of innovative product solutions."
About the Red Dot design award:
The Red Dot award is organised by the North Rphine-Westphalia design centre and is one of the largest design competitions in the world. In 1955, the first jury was formed to assess the best design at that time. Since then this coveted award has become a highly internationally respected seal of excellent design quality.
