IQORON VP 25 two-stage air cleaner: excellent through new element and installation space flexibility

The IQORON VP 25 two-stage air cleaner was developed for heavy duty off-highway applications. It offers excellent flexibility in tight installation spaces and has a new type of filter element with a high performance for its compact design and a long service life. It covers nominal volume flow rates of 25 m³/min.

Ludwigsburg, April 11, 2016 – at the 2016 BAUMA trade fair in Munich MANN+HUMMEL, development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, will present the IQORON VP 25, a two-stage air cleaner which is suitable for tight installation spaces. Target applications include construction and agricultural machines, cargo handling equipment or other machines which work in conditions with a heavy dust load. The IQORON VP 25 with a nominal volume flow rate of 25 m3/min extends the existing IQORON series. Numerous patents are pending for the completely newly developed system.

An important design aspect is its new type of filter element which is based on the innovative VarioPleat technology of MANN+HUMMEL. The element is the key to the compact design of the whole system. It enables a housing concept with a new design for the clean air port which in turn enables air routing to the engine which is considerably shorter than that offered by conventional solutions on the market. This allows the IQORON VP 25 to cover a wide range of applications for tight installation spaces. In addition, the filter element is characterised by a very high filter surface area and excellent use of installation space with a simultaneous low pressure drop and high dust holding capacity.

The efficiency of the multi-cyclone block in the IQORON VP 25 was improved. A pre-separation efficiency higher than 90% is achieved with scavenging and a slightly lower pre-separation efficiency is achieved without scavenging using a dust discharge valve. The IQORON VP 25 can be installed both in a vertical or horizontal position. A large selection of different options is available for the dirty air and clean air ducts and there are a number of mounting possibilities. The robust design of the housing and element offer high stability and temperature stability.

The servicing concept from the side and the fastening system for the filter system are designed to be user friendly. Optional extras include a number of sensors which can be fitted to the filter.

The IQORON VP 25 can also be used as a single-stage air cleaner. In this case the multi-cyclone block is replaced by an intake hood.
