Ludwigsburg, 22nd September 2011 - They are absolutely essential. The partners and suppliers of MANN+HUMMEL have a significant impact on the success of the filtration specialist. The ever more demanding customer requirements in the automotive field and industry require consistent orientation on quality and the flexibility of all participants in the value chain. "We are committed to serving customers and maintaining our good reputation. For 70 years MANN+HUMMEL has been synonymous for first class filtration performance", says Frank B. Jehle, Deputy CEO, on the occasion of the presentation of the award at the 2nd Global Supplier Event of the group. "Our partners share this success. The development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries plans dynamic growth and an increase in turnover from 2.18 billion euros last year to 3.4 billion euros in 2018. Special growth regions are the BRIC states Brazil, Russia, China and India. Reliable partners are essential for this growth to take place. The standards set by the filtration specialist resp. by their customers are high: professionalism with regard to cost management, supply chain management and project planning, uncompromising quality, collaboration for innovation, sustainability, and an international presence and excellent flexibility. Volatile markets require various forms of short-term adjustments.

"Purchasing within the group is a strategic parameter for our company. A continuous, structured and qualified development of our supplier base is a must", says Höhn, head of purchasing. "We need our partners to see the big picture, for them to recognise how their good performance supports our common result. We wish to use the Global Supplier Event to enable our partners to see this broader perspective and to invite them to grow with us."

In 2010 the purchasing volume of the MANN+HUMMEL group was approx. 1.5 billion euros, with production material accounting for roughly 1 billion euros. In line with turnover the purchasing volume will increase by 2018 by about 70%.
