MANN-FILTER wins PARTSLIFE Environmental Award 2026
- The jury was impressed by more sustainable cabin air filters made with recycled coconut-based activated carbon

Ludwigsburg, September, 29 2026 – Sustainability and innovation go hand in hand at globally active filtration expert MANN+HUMMEL. Its premium brand MANN-FILTER impressed the panel of the PARTSLIFE Environment Award 2026 with cabin air filters that are more sustainable, using recycled, coconut-based, activated carbon, and received the award in the “Recycling” category. The award took place as part of the PARTSLIFE Congress in Vienna.

By inserting recycled coconut-based activated carbon into the FreciousPlus cabin air filters, the CO₂ footprint of the activated carbon can be reduced by 17 percent compared to new activated carbon. The CO₂ savings calculation was audited and confirmed externally by ClimatePartner. At the same time, raw material consumption is reduced by 20 percent. This means that resources are used more efficiently and recycled raw materials are returned to the product cycle.
“For the first time, our solution makes it possible to use recycled activated carbon in demanding filtration applications without compromising on performance, quality and lifetime. In a multi-stage recycling process, we recover activated carbon from production residues, process it and feed it back into the product cycle. In this way, we are opening up new applications for recycled raw materials and setting new standards in the industry," explains Marian Anton, Business Development Manager at MANN+HUMMEL.

The 3,000 euros of prize money associated with the environmental award is being donated by MANN-FILTER to the NABU Kreisverband Ludwigsburg, Germany, a local environmental organization. In addition to its outstanding sustainability project, the premium brand is thus also supporting the conservation of natural habitats in the region. While the recycled activated carbon in the cabin air filters helps to conserve resources and reduce the CO₂ footprint, intact ecosystems can store carbon and thus make an important contribution to climate protection. As part of the Ludwigsburg-based MANN+HUMMEL Group, MANN-FILTER also wants to foster more sustainable actions in the region.
