MANN-FILTER Mamba competes in Macau

Ludwigsburg, November 8, 2023 – From November 16 to 19, Macau will once again host the FIA GT World Cup and the legendary Macau Grand Prix for the 70th time. The race track in close proximity to Hong Kong is one of the most spectacular in the world. The challenging 6.115-kilometer street circuit features uphill and downhill gradients, fast straightaways and tight bends. In 2019, Raffaele Marciello (SUI) and Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing won the FIA GT World Cup on the streets of Macau.

Now, for the 70th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix, Raffaele Marciello will be competing in the MANN-FILTER Mamba to defend his 2019 title. He starts with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #48 of the Mercedes-AMG Team LANDGRAF "Macau is one of the best experiences you can have as a driver," Marciello says. "The track, the city, the fans... everything is amazing and unforgettable. A street circuit is always a challenge, and Macau is very fast and tight – which makes it complicated, but also fascinating. Fans flock to the race in droves, and they are just as passionate as they are at the DTM, Spa 24 Hours or Nürburgring," Marciello explains enthusiastically.

Filippina Manou, sponsorship manager at MANN-FILTER, is looking forward to the race in Macau: "China is a huge market for the automotive industry. Having the chance to represent MANN-FILTER in one of the most iconic races and racetracks on the whole continent of Asia is something special to us. We expect fans and also our local customers to be together with us on-site. We are looking so much forward to the 70th Macau Grand Prix this year and are more than happy for having Lello back in the MANN-FILTER Mamba. It’s something very special and what we are chasing for is to go home with the official World Cup title. But we know that on the very challenging Guia Circuit unbelievable things, situations where you couldn´t believe what you see have happened already. Together with the lineup announcement of all teams we know strong competitors are on the field. Still we are convinced that the combination of our LANDGRAF Motorsport family together with Raffaele on the MANN-FILTER Mamba is the perfect match to go for it. By the way, until today snakes are considered to bring good luck in China and even we are very confident about our team, as always in Motorsport, a little bit of luck won´t hurt." Manou ends by saying, "See you in Macau!".

The first two free training sessions will get underway on Thursday, November 16, followed by the 30-minute qualifying session on Friday, which will determine the starting line-up for the qualifying race on Saturday. Qualification is particularly important in Macau, as the narrow street circuit hardly allows any opportunities for passing maneuvers. The starting line-up for the main racing event on Sunday will then be determined in Saturday's race. To be successful in Macau, it is important to perfectly navigate the narrow urban canyons.

Motorsport fans can follow the spectacular road race in a livestream at www.fia.com and on MANN-FILTER social media channels.
