Company founded
In 1941, Adolf Mann and Dr. Erich Hummel founded the company then known as Filterwerk Mann & Hummel. From the very beginning, MANN-FILTER was a key part of this development. Over the decades, the MANN-FILTER brand evolved into a major force in the automotive and industrial sectors and today stands worldwide for innovative filtration solutions in original equipment quality.
Trademark registration
In 1951, MANN-FILTER was then officially registered as a trademark, paving the way for the brand’s rise in the aftermarket.
Global expansion
From its regional beginnings in Ludwigsburg, MANN-FILTER evolved into a premium brand with a worldwide presence. Since the 1960s, the brand has expanded internationally and today ranks among the leading players in the independent aftermarket.
FreciousPlus
In 2014, FreciousPlus, a biofunctional cabin air filter, was launched and set new standards. Specifically developed for the aftermarket, it established new industry benchmarks in the OE sector as well – contrary to the usual innovation sequence. It filters allergens, fine dust, and harmful gases while also inhibiting the growth of bacteria and mold.
MANN-FILTER Mamba
A premiere moment in May 2015: At the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, a MANN-FILTER Mercedes-AMG SLS GT3 made its debut in striking yellow and green. This appearance gave rise to the “MANN-FILTER Mamba,” which quickly became a fan favorite in GT3 racing. In 2025, MANN-FILTER proudly celebrated the Mamba’s 10th anniversary.
Strong Brand. New Design.
In 2024, MANN-FILTER further evolved its packaging design to make it future-ready without losing its unique brand recognition. The redesign introduced real added value, including a QR code linking to digital information and intelligent counterfeit protection through a secure code. The new packaging concept combines innovative features with a clean and modern brand appearance – for greater orientation and trust.
Innovation for greater sustainability
Sustainability is deeply embedded in the corporate philosophy of MANN+HUMMEL and its premium brand MANN-FILTER. With a product innovation based on renewable raw materials, MANN-FILTER is taking another step toward emission-neutral mobility: the crude oil-based impregnation used in air and oil filters is being partially replaced by lignin – marking the starting point for more sustainable products.
