Another German Design Award for MANN-FILTER

Sustainability campaign stands out with a clear concept for a complex topic: FreciousPlus cabin air filters with recycled activated carbon.

Ludwigsburg, October 27, 2026 – MANN-FILTER receives the German Design Award 2027, after also having claimed the 2026 title. This time, the winning campaign was "Better cabin air filters. Made easy." in the "Excellent Communications Design – Integrated Campaigns and Advertising" category. At the center of the campaign are selected FreciousPlus cabin air filters that use recycled coconut-based activated carbon.

Sustainability campaign by MANN-FILTER awarded the German Design Award

As campaign ambassador, Sammy the Squirrel creates an emotional approach to the technical topic and draws attention to the more sustainable material solution. He was introduced last year along with the lignin campaign and is now a firm hallmark of MANN-FILTER’s sustainability campaigns. The clean design and the brand-typical yellow ensure high recognition across digital channels, websites, trade magazines and trade fairs.

“We are very pleased to receive this award once again,” says Mario Milinovic, MANN-FILTER Brand Manager. "It shows that technical innovation and responsible use of materials can be communicated clearly and attentively. Our campaign brings the product idea to a simple point while remaining unmistakably MANN-FILTER. With our creative agency FACT from Kirchheim/Teck, we have a partner at our side who understands our brand and effectively presents ideas. We would like to thank the entire team for this."

Recycled activated carbon, proven application

For selected FreciousPlus cabin air filters, activated carbon from production residues generated during its own cabin air filter manufacturing process is reprocessed and reused. The recovered activated carbon replaces part of the traditionally used new activated carbon. This protects natural raw materials and strengthens material cycles – with unchanged filtration performance, quality and lifetime.

A campaign with a clear message

The campaign slogan "Better cabin air filters. Made easy." summarizes that sustainability can be quite simple: easy to select, easy to use and with clear added value for workshops, retailers and vehicle owners. It was precisely this combination of relevant content, simple communication and distinctive design that impressed at the German Design Award.

“Good communication makes complex topics easy to understand,” Milinovic adds. "Sammy gives the campaign a strong visual anchor. In this way, we are drawing attention to a product innovation that works seamlessly in everyday life."

Nothing will change for workshops and distributors: the filters are available as series products, no additional part numbers or changes in logistics are required.
